Before we begin, it is mandatory to know what an ISO image is. In simpler terms, you can think of ISO (International Organization for Standardization) file as a bunch of images which has to be segregated inorder to retrieve the whole contents of the file.

The advantage of having ISO files is that a large section of images can be stored in an ISO file and than has to be extracted using an ISO software. This will allow users to send ISO files easily even via an email since the compressed ISO file size will be very small. If you compare with the example above, it is like the toy in the box which is small since they come with only plastic parts and once assembled it becomes a large toy such as a house or a huge vehicle etc.

Though the compressed format is extracted using ISO software, ISO format provides true digital format exactly like original.
